Local child care providers were recognized on May 16, 2008 for their dedication and loving care for area families and children. Mildred Stone was honored for her 35 years of service and retirement. Juanita Lee and Darlene Ingram were honored for their qualification as military accredited providers. Juanita Lee was also honored for attainment of a Child Development Associate. Michele Dawson and Michele Miller were honored for their distinction as nationally accredited family child care providers. The event was sponsored by Child and Family Connection and the City of Williamsburg, Dept. of Human Services. MLM Events of Newport News, donated their time in planning the reception.

As supporters and partners of Child and Family Connection you are invited for refreshments and a tour; it is time to come see the new office space!   With new staff and programs it's an opportunity to learn how Child and Family Connection has improved services for families, children and caregivers.

Without your support Child and Family Connection would not be entering its' 28th year serving the parents, children and caregivers in our community.

Celebration for Friends of Children Gala Honorees

Honored at the Celebration for Friends of Children Gala were 5 of the 10 family child care providers who are state licensed or registered and working to obtain National Association of Family Child Care accreditation or the Child Development Associate credential from the Council of Professional Recognition. They received a scholarship which allowed them to attend the annual conference of the National Association of Family Child Care providers.
